Roma, Jan. 26 -- A boat carrying 51 migrants capsized in the Mediterranean recently, with one confirmed alive and 50 still missing, local media reported.
The only survivor was rescued by a merchant ship and transported to a hospital in Malta for treatment.
According to the survivor, the boat sailed off from Libya on Thursday and capsized the next day. The survivor held tight to the wreckage and floated on the water before being rescued.
After the accident, search and rescue operations were launched, and 50 people were still missing.
