Patna, March 5 -- Bihar Police has strengthened its dog squad to ensure better investigation and enhance security checks including at VIP events.
Additional Director General (ADG), CID, Paras Nath said here on Thursday that 30 specially trained dogs have recently been inducted into the squad. With this addition, the current number of dogs has increased to 96 in the squad. Out of the sanctioned strength of 200 dogs in the canine unit, 96 dogs have been trained and are currently available for carrying out investigation and other work.
He said that there is a plan to add 50 more dogs to the squad by next year. After this, the total number of dogs in the squad will increase to 146.
