3-day holiday declared for all higher educational institutions in Pondy in view of elections

Puducherry, April 7 -- The Puducherry administration has declared a holiday for three days from tomorrow (April 8) in view of the assembly elections on April 9.

Dr.A S Sivakumar, Director, Department of Education, in a circular said in view of the general elections to the Puducherry Legislative Assembly, several colleges and higher educational institutions have been designated as polling stations.

Necessary preparatory and post-poll works such as installation of CCTV cameras, electrification, minor civil works, maintenance and sanitation are to be carried out.
