New Delhi, April 1 -- A ACJM Court on Tuesday directed the registration of First Information Report (FIR) against Delhi Law and Justice Minister Kapil Mishra for his alleged involvement in the 2020 Delhi riots case.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Vaibhav Chaurasia after hearing the arguments said, "It is clear that Mishra was in the area at the time of alleged offence. further probe is required".
The court adjourned the matter for April, 16 for filing compliance report.
Applicant, Mohammad Ilyas, had filed an application under section 175 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023 and accused Mishra and others of inciting violence during the riots.
