Sydney, June 23 -- A man has been arrested over a stabbing spree north of Sydney that left two women in hospital.
Police in the state of New South Wales (NSW) said on Monday that emergency services were called to reports of a 33-year-old woman being stabbed at a property in the town of Uralla, 350 km north of Sydney, about 9:40 a.m. on Sunday.
Officers were told that a man had assaulted the woman with a knife before fleeing the scene in a vehicle. She was treated by ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.
A short time later, a 23-year-old man was reportedly threatened at a nearby property by a man with a knife who subsequently fled in a vehicle.
