Jodhpur, Sept. 27 -- : A Special Court here has convicted and punished former Chief Income Tax Commissioner and an ex-Income Tax officer with 4-year jail terms in a bribe taking case.
The CBI Special Court Judge Bhupendra Sanadya here on Friday pronounced the judgement slapping the duo, ex-chief commissioner Pawan Kumar Sharma and ITO Shailendra Bhandari with 4 year imprisonment and cash penalty of Rs1.10 lakh each.
The two accused were facing the trial since 2015 in the case of accepting bribe for clearing the tax assessment file of a trader Kishore Jain of Barmer.
