New Delhi, Feb. 25 -- A Delhi Special Court on Tuesday awarded life imprisonment to former Congress MP Sajjan Kumar in a case related to the murder of two persons in Saraswati Vihar area during the Anti-Sikh riots.
Special Judge for MPs/MLAs cases Kaveri Baweja after hearing arguments on behalf of Prosecution and Defence Counsel had pronounced the order.
The Court had convicted Kumar on February 12 for offences punishable under Sections 147/148/149 IPC and for offences punishable under Sections 302/308/323/395/397/427/436/440 read with Section 149 of Indian Penal Code(IPC).
After hearing arguments on quantum of sentence, the court listed the matter for February 25 for pronouncing the judgment.
