Jammu, April 20 -- At least 16 passengers were killed and many injured when a bus on way from Ramnagar towards Udhampur this morning met with an accident and fell into a deep gorge in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Police officials said that a bus ferrying passengers met with an accident when reached near Kaghote Morh in tehsil Ramnagar of the district.
"So far 16 deaths have been confirmed and several injured in the accident," they added.
Senior police officers, locals and army immediately swung into action, reached the spot and launched rescue operation and shifted the injured to the Government Medical College Udhampur.
