Shahjahanpur (UP), Sept. 14 -- A 15-day-old baby girl was found buried alive near the banks of the Bahgul river in Shahjahanpur this morning.
The infant was discovered by a local boy who heard her crying and alerted nearby villagers. Her hand, which had emerged from the soil, appeared to be injured and bleeding, possibly due to an animal bite.
The baby was buried in a one-foot-deep pit near the Gaohapur-Jaitipur road bridge, an area that sees little pedestrian movement. A local youth named Dablu, who was grazing goats nearby, heard the cries and found the infant covered in mud and barely responsive.
