Nagpur, Sept. 2 -- Social activist and great-grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, Tushar Gandhi, today strongly refuted Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis' claim that "urban Naxals" have infiltrated Gandhian institutions.

Addressing a press conference here, Gandhi asserted that following Gandhian ideals should not be equated with extremism.

"Yes, we are Gandhian revolutionaries. But we are not gunmen. There is no need for the government to fear us just because we hold these ideals," he said.

Gandhi explained that true Gandhian values embody patriotism and peaceful revolution. "Revolutionaries disturb those in power. That's why people in authority fear them. The Chief Minister's reaction only proves this," he remarked.
