Lucknow, March 7 -- In many villages across UP, women volunteers known as 'Swasthya Sakhis' are quietly helping families adopt healthier practices by spreading awareness on nutrition, maternal and child health, immunization, breastfeeding and menstrual hygiene. Working closely with frontline health workers, these community-level leaders conduct home visits, organise small awareness sessions and guide families in accessing government health services, gradually strengthening the reach of public health programmes in rural areas.
