Chandigarh, Jan. 22 -- Punjab Police's ongoing anti-gangster drive, 'Operation Prahar', witnessed another encounter in the Amritsar rural area where a wanted murder accused was injured in a brief exchange of fire and later taken into custody.

This marked the sixth police encounter reported during the 72-hour special operation launched against organised crime networks.

According to senior police officials, the injured accused has been identified as Jaspal alias Bhatti, a resident of Hoshiarpur district.
