Lucknow, Nov. 19 -- For the first time in the state, a major and innovative step has been taken to connect children from child and juvenile shelter homes with the mainstream.
With the support of the Women Welfare Department, UNICEF and SCERT, a special training module called 'Navarambh' has been launched. Under this, 46 selected teachers from the basic education department are being made modern experts.
This special programme has been launched under the leadership and direction of Basic Education Minister Sandeep Singh with the aim that children in shelter homes can move forward in the mainstream according to their interests, just like other children.
