, Oct. 11 -- A youth reportedly took his own life following a family dispute in the capital's Demra area on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Afsar Hossain Sakib, 25.

The incident took place at his home in Azad Villa, Matuail Muslim Nagar. .

Sakib, son of late Saju Alam, originally hailed from Wari's RK Mission area.

He had been living with his family at Azad Villa in Muslim Nagar's Lane No. 3.

His cousin Parvez Hossain Babu said, "Sakib hanged himself with a towel tied to a window grill after an argument with family members in the morning. Family members discovered him soon after and informed police."

Police later recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy around 4 pm.
