Dhaka, March 23 -- Angry protesters beat up a young man named Yusuf and set his motorcycle on fire at the gate of Magura Government College on Sunday afternoon.

The incident occurred after the man shouted the slogans "Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu" during a protest march in Magura demanding a ban on the Awami League.

Ayub Ali, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Magura Police Station, said the incident created tension in the city, leading to traffic jams. In response, the army quickly arrived at the scene, rescued the young man, and handed him over to the police.
