Shariatpur, March 26 -- slit body of a 55-year-old woman was recovered from her house at Barijangal village in Bhedarganj upazila of Shariatpur on Tuesday night.

The deceased was Mukta Begum, 55, wife of Mannan Gazi from Barijangal village.

Husband Mannan Gazi said that he locked the main door and left his wife at home while he went to offer Tarabi prayers.

Upon returning home after the prayers he found his wife's body lying on the bed, said Bhedarganj Police Station's Officer-in-Charge (OC) Parvez Hasan Selim.
