Dhaka, Nov. 17 -- A woman and her younger son were stabbed to death at Basantapur village in Adarsha Sadar upazila of Cumilla allegedly by her elder son on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Rahela Begum, 65, wife of the late Azgar Ali, and her younger son Kamal Hossain, 35.

Rahela's elder son Billal Hossain went into hiding while his wife Aklima Khatun has been taken into custody for questioning.

Police said when Kamal tried to prevent his elder brother Billal from bringing drugs inside home a heated argument ensued in the morning.

At one stage, Billal attacked Kamal with a knife and stabbed him repeatedly, leaving him dead on the spot.
