Pirojpur, March 18 -- decomposed body of an unidentified woman with her throat slit from an abandoned house in Uttar Sonakhali village under Amragachia union in Mathbaria upazila on Tuesday.

Mathbaria Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdullah Al Mamun said the woman, estimated to be between 25 and 30 years old, was found after locals reported the discovery via the national emergency helpline 999 around 5pm.

"The body was recovered from an abandoned house in Amragachia union. The head had been severed, and due to decomposition, it appeared to be a few days old," OC Mamun said.
