Dhaka, May 16 -- The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the European Union (EU) on Thursday signed an agreement to modernise and digitise legal aid services across Bangladesh, aiming to ensure faster and more inclusive access to justice for vulnerable communities.

The agreement was signed at the EU Delegation office in Dhaka by UNDP Bangladesh Resident Representative Stefan Liller and EU Ambassador to Bangladesh Michael Miller, said a press release.

Under the new initiative, an integrated legal aid system will be introduced featuring mobile applications, online case tracking and virtual mediation. The system is expected to enable citizens in remote and marginalised areas to access legal services without physically visiting ...
