Dhaka, Jan. 7 -- The contractual appointment of Md. Ahsan Ullah, as the Advisor to the Governor of Bangladesh Bank, has been extended for another year.

The decision was approved by the Board of Directors of the central bank, according to official sources on Tuesday.

A veteran central banker, Md. Ahsan Ullah was first appointed as the Governor's Advisor on January 6 last year. His career at Bangladesh Bank spans over 35 years, culminating in his retirement as the senior-most Executive Director.
