Dhaka, March 24 -- Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal who suffered a heart attack has regained consciousness after undergoing a stent procedure on his heart at a hospital in Savar.

He has talked to doctors and family members, Tariqul Islam, an official at Mohammedan Sporting Club, told UNB.

Earlier Dr Razeeb Hasan, Medical Director of the KPJ Specialised Hospital, said the stenting was done smoothly and efficiently, and the blockage has been completely cleared.

"However, he is still under observation, and his condition remains critical. It will take a little more time," he said at a press briefing.
