Dhaka, March 24 -- Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal has been hospitalised after suffering chest pain during a Dhaka Premier League (DPL) match at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan(BKSP) grounds in Savar on Monday.

Tamim, who was leading Mohammedan Sporting Club, took part in the toss against Shinepukur Cricket Club but later complained of discomfort in his chest.

He was initially treated at the ground before being taken to a nearby hospital for further medical attention.

Tariqul Islam, a Mohammedan official, confirmed to UNB that Tamim is currently admitted at KPJ Specialized Hospital.
