, March 18 -- The stock markets of Dhaka and Chittagong on Tuesday reversed the downtrend of their indices, showing a rise, though the overall volume of shares and units traded declined in both markets.

Despite the fall in trading, most company share prices marked a rise.

On the day, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) saw its main index, DSEX, increase by 4 points.

While the main index rose, the other two indices - the Shariah-compliant DSES fell by 2 points, and the blue-chip index DS-30 dropped by 6 points.

The trading volume on DSE exceeded Tk 505 crore on the previous day, but on Tuesday, it dropped to Tk 450 crore.
