Dhaka, March 6 -- Speakers on Wednesday expressed that the use of insulting words against women is hindering them from the path of progress and challenging the improvement of women's psychological, social and economic development.

Additionally, they sought more gender-sensitivity while using language to establish women's empowerment properly.

The insights came up at an event titled 'Shobde Jobdo Nari' ("Women shackled by words") arranged by ActionAid Bangladesh ahead of International Women's Day-2019 with a view to abolishing the use of abusive words against women at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA).
