, Sept. 8 -- The Ministry of Shipping earned Tk 6,575.97 crore in revenue from various sources during the fiscal year 2024-25, marking significant progress in the sector, according to Shipping Adviser Brig Gen (Retd) Dr M Sakhawat Hossain.

The adviser shared the information at a press conference held at the ministry's conference room at the Secretariat on Monday.

Dr Sakhawat Hossain attributed the achievement to the government's visionary planning and timely initiatives. He said that the ministry's revenue in FY2024-25 increased by approximately 9.41% compared to the previous fiscal year.

During the same period, Tk 2,223.33 crore was deposited into the government treasury-an increase of 21.81% year-on-year.
