Dhaka, May 21 -- Without interrupting electricity provision or services, Palli Bidyut Samity employees will observe a "March to Dhaka" programme on Wednesday to press home their demands.

The Bangladesh Palli Bidyut Association (BPBA), a platform representing employees of the PBSs - rural electricity cooperatives operating across the country - announced the programme through a press release issued Tuesday night.

The BPBA's 7-point charter of demands includes removal of the Chairman of the Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (REB), introduction of unified service rules for both REB and PBS employees, reinstatement of dismissed employees and withdrawal of what they term false and baseless cases filed against association members.
