Sylhet, Nov. 29 -- Rail communication between Sylhet and the rest of the country was suspended on Saturday night after an oil tanker wagon of a freight train derailed in the Mollikpur area of Fenchuganj upazila.

The incident occurred around 9:30 pm, said Enayet Karim, officer-in-charge of Sylhet Railway Police Station.

According to railway sources, a wheel of the Sylhet-bound freight train's wagon suddenly derailed, halting train traffic on the Sylhet-Dhaka-Chattogram route.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported.

A relief train has been dispatched from Kulaura Shed to recover the derailed wagon.
