, Jan. 2 -- The Returning Officer has scrapped the nomination papers of Nagorik Oikya President Mahmudur Rahman Manna, who was contesting with BNP's support, along with six other candidates in Bogura district.

The decision was taken on Friday after scrutiny of nomination papers for three constituencies of Bogura on the first day of verification. District Administrator and District Returning Officer Md Toufiqul Rahman announced the decisions after completing the scrutiny.

Manna's nomination for the Bogura-2 (Shibganj) constituency was cancelled due to discrepancies in the information provided in his affidavit, the Returning Officer said.
