Dhaka, July 16 -- The National Consensus Commission (NCC) on Wednesday met to discuss proposals aimed at bridging political differences over the caretaker government's leadership and the formation of a proposed bicameral parliament, particularly the Upper House.
Presided over by NCC vice chair Prof Ali Riaz, the meeting was held at the commission office in the Jatiya Sangsad Complex.
At the outset of the meeting, a one-minute silence was observed in memory of the martyrs of the July-August 2024 mass uprising, marking 'July Martyr Day'.
The meeting reviewed the key outcomes and (consensus-building) progress of the 14 days of the second-round reform dialogues held between the commission and some 30 political parties since June 02 last.
