, Feb. 15 -- Thirteen out of 20 candidates who contested the national election from three parliamentary constituencies in Manikganj have lost their deposits after failing to secure the minimum required votes.
Under Election Commission rules, candidates must obtain at least 12.5% of the total valid votes in their respective constituencies to retain their deposits.
An analysis of the final results shows that a majority of contestants in the district did not meet that threshold.
