, April 27 -- A Barguna court on Sunday convicted a man and sentenced him to death in a case filed for attempting to rape of a woman after killing two children in 2023.

The convict was identified as Md Ilias, 34.

The court also sentenced him to 20 years imprisonment and fined Tk 2 lakh.

Barguna Woman and Child Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Begum Lailatul Ferdous handed down the punishment.

According to the prosecution, the convict entered into the house of the woman, aged about 30 and mother of Taifa, 3-on August 4, 2023.
