Dhaka, July 31 -- Law Adviser Asif Nazrul has said his ministry is being unfairly held responsible for the country's law and order issues simply because it includes the word "law" in its name.
Speaking at a press conference on legal reforms at the Secretariat on Thursday, he clarified that the ministry has no role in maintaining law and order, which falls under the purview of other ministries.
"With all humility, I ask-why should my ministry be criticised for the actions or shortcomings of others? We are working diligently, yet being held accountable for issues beyond our mandate," he said.
