Dhaka, Feb. 22 -- 0 lead in the five-match Kabaddi Series outplaying touring Nepal by 53-29 points with five creditable lonas in the first match at the Paltan Maidan in the capital on Saturday.

Senior Secretary of the Youth and Sports Ministry Rezaul Maksud Zahedi inaugurated the series Saturday afternoon.

In the first half, Bangladesh dominated over the Himalayan nation by 28-11 points.

Bangladesh captain Mizanur Rahman was adjudged the best player of the match.

In the 2nd match of the five match series, Bangladesh will play Nepal on Sunday at 3:30 pm at the same venue.

Bangladesh is playing the Kabaddi series at home after a long gap of about 51 years after playing the first Kabaddi series against India in 1974.
