Dhaka, May 17 -- The Jagannath University (JnU) student who hurled a water bottle at Information Adviser Mahfuz Alam has sought apology and given a written undertaking to refrain from such actions in the future, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said on Saturday.
In a press release issued early Saturday, Muhammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of the DMP's Media and Public Relations Division, said the student, Mohammad Hossain, was handed over to his mother on Friday evening following legal procedures.
According to the DMP, Adviser Mahfuz Alam was holding a discussion with demonstrating students near Kakrail Mosque on Wednesday night when a bottle was suddenly thrown at him from the gathering, hitting him on the head.
