, April 6 -- A hailstorm coupled with gusty wind lashed different parts of Natore district on Sunday, damaging crops and houses.

The hailstorm started around 4:30 pm and swept through different parts of Sadar, Bagatipara and Lalpur upazilas of the district.

Seasonal fruits including mango and litchi buds were seen falling while the crop fields including wheat and maize were damaged.

Habibur Rahman, deputy director of the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE), said the extent of the damage is yet to be ascertained.

Besides, a number of houses including thatched oned were damaged during the hailstorm.
