, Aug. 12 -- The government has fixed the price of palm oil at Tk 150 per litre reducing it by Tk 19 and kept the price of soybean oil unchanged.
The decision was taken in response to falling prices in the international market, said Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman at a press briefing held at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
The Bangladesh Trade and Tariff Commission monitors global and local supply and demand for edible oils.

Based on a recent decline in international palm oil prices the commission recommended reducing the price, which the government accepted.
However, the price of bottled soybean oil remains unchanged at Tk 189 per liter.
