Dhaka, July 19 -- Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam has said Gopalganj Police are expected to seek a court order on Sunday to exhume three of the four bodies for autopsy.

"Unfortunately, the body of one Hindu victim was cremated by his family, making an autopsy no longer possible," he told UNB while responding to a question on Friday.

Alam said authorities are reviewing the circumstances surrounding this incident to ensure accountability and prevent similar obstructions in the future.

The interim government has already established a formal committee to investigate the acts of violence that occurred in Gopalganj on July 16, 2025.
