, Nov. 23 -- The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has raised the gas tariff for fertiliser factories to Tk 29.25 per cubic metre, up from the previous rate of Tk 16.
The new price will come into effect on December 1 and remain valid until further notice, the BERC announced on Sunday.
According to BERC, Petrobangla, Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution PLC, Bakhrabad Gas Distribution Company Ltd, Jalalabad Gas Transmission and Distribution System Ltd, and Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Ltd submitted proposals between August 10 and 20 under Section 34(6) of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act, 2000, seeking a revision of gas prices for the fertiliser category.
