, March 25 -- BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday said that the recent election campaigns, marked by the use of large convoys of 100 vehicles, suggest that such practices could continue in future political activities.

"We can clearly understand the intentions of those who take to the election campaign with a fleet of 100 cars," he said, making an indirect reference to NCP leader Sarjis Alam.

The BNP Secretary General made the remarks while presiding over a discussion in the city on the occasion of the 55th Independence Day.

BNP arranged the event at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) Auditorium.
