Dhaka, April 6 -- A Dhaka court on Sunday sentenced e-commerce platform Evaly's Managing Director and CEO Mohammad Rassel and Chairman Shamima Nasrin to three years of imprisonment each in a cheque fraud case.

Judge of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court Md Minhazur Rahman pronounced the judgment and fined them Tk 5, 000 each, in default of which, they have to suffer six more months' jail, said the defendant's lawyer Sakibul Islam.

The court issued an arrest warrant for the convicts as they were tied in absentia.

According to the case statement, Evaly used to sell various products through flashy advertisements through various means.
