Cumilla, May 15 -- BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas said on Thursday that both the government and other political parties have realised that BNP would come to power if elections are held.
"That is why they do not want to hold elections. When they talk about elections, they have heart burning," he said during the BNP membership form distribution and membership renewal inauguration ceremony at the Cumilla District Shilpakala Academy.
He also said that the freedom for which Ziaur Rahman sacrificed his life, Khaleda Zia's life is now under threat, and Tarique Rahman in exile abroad indicates that democracy is also under threat.
