Bangladesh, Dec. 3 -- A woman gave birth to a baby at the main entrance of Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib General Hospital here on Sunday night after allegedly being denied services at the hospital by the duty doctor.

The victim was identified as Rahima Khatun, 22, of Rupshachar village in the upazila.

Abdur Rahim, the victim's husband, said Rahima was taken to the hospital on Sunday night after she went into labour.

But the duty doctor - Banasree Saha - released her few hours later without providing any treatment and suggested taking her to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College in Bogura, saying she is suffering from anemia, he said.
