, May 29 -- A deep depression formed over the Bay of Bengal has completed crossing the West Bengal-Bangladesh coastline and now lies over Satkhira and adjoining area as a land depression.

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) issued a special bulletin on Thursday warning of the potential impacts.

Due the influence of new moon phase and deep depression the low-lying areas of the coastal districts of Chattogram, Noakhali, Laxmipur, Feni, Chandpur, Barguna, Bhola, Patuakhali, Barishal, Pirojpur, Jhalakathi, Bagherhat, Khulna, Satkhira and their offshore Islands, chars Hatiya and Sandwip are likely to be inundated by wind driven surge of 1-3 feet height above normal astronomical tide.
