Cox's Bazar, March 25 -- Pakistani occupation forces carried out some 267 incidents of mass killings and torture amounting to genocide in the district during the Liberation War in 1971, according to a survey.

Prof Muntassir Mamoon, chairman of the Board of Trustees of Genocide-Torture Archive and Museum, came up with the information at a daylong workshop on genocide, mass killing fields and graves at a seminar at Kabi Shamsur Rahman Seminar Hall of Bangla Academy on Friday.

He said during the survey they found these genocides in Cox's Bazar, Gaibandha, Jamalpur, Narail, Lalmonirhat, Panchagarh, Brahmanbaria, Jashore, Moulvibazar and Barishal.
