Bangladesh, Sept. 25 -- The health authorities recorded 21 more coronavirus deaths and 1,383 news cases in the past 24 hours until Friday morning.

The caseload jumped to 356,767 as the death toll reached 5,093.

Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8 and the first death on March 18.

According to a handout from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 1,888,010 tests have so far been carried out - 12,473 of them in the last 24 hours.

So far, 18.9 percent of the total tests turned out to be positive.
