Dhaka, July 29 -- BNP on Monday demanded resignation of the Health Minister and the two Dhaka city mayors for their failure to check the outbreak of dengue and eliminate Aedes mosquito.

"Dengue has spread like epidemic across the country. We're observing with disappointment and anger that the government messed up the dengue crisis. The city mayors are making various remarks that don't match the reality," said BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

He came up with the demand at a press briefing after a meeting of BNP standing committee member at its chairperson's Gulshan office.
