Chandpur, March 17 -- At least 10 people were injured in a clash between two factions of the BNP over the distribution of rice to fishermen in the Baharia area of Chandpur Sadar.

The incident took place on Monday, March 17, at around noon near the Baharia Bazar Union Parishad Complex, during the distribution of rice (VGF) to fishermen who had refrained from catching jhatka hilsa in wards 3 and 9.

According to locals, a dispute broke out between supporters of Nuru Bhuiyan, the president of the Union BNP, and supporters of Sumon Ahmed Bhuiyan, the vice president of the Union BNP, when some fishermen without cards tried to take rice.
