Dhaka, Oct. 3 -- Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of renowned language movement hero and cultural icon Ahmad Rafiq.
In a statement, BSA Director General Sheikh Rezauddin Ahmed Stalin said Ahmad Rafiq played an active and courageous role in the historic Language Movement and dedicated his life to the advancement of the Bengali language, literature, and culture.
"Ahmad Rafiq's life and work will inspire future generations. His contribution to language and culture will be written in golden letters in the nation's history," he added.
