Dhaka, July 26 -- Bangladesh is planning to play a short home series against Nepal or the Netherlands ahead of the Asia Cup this year.

A board official said they are considering playing the series against one of these two teams.

The national team is currently on a break after back-to-back series wins over Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

However, concerns have been raised about whether such a long gap before the next major tournament could disrupt their momentum.

"We're trying," said Nazmul Abedin, the BCB's cricket operations chief. "It's hard to get a major team at the moment because of their schedules. Nepal or the Netherlands are possibilities."
