Dhaka, April 9 -- Bangladesh Navy has recovered stolen goods worth approximately Tk 1 crore from the Matarbari Power Plant Project during a raid in Maheshkhali's Rajghat South Para area.

As part of its regular operations to ensure national security and curb drug trafficking, terrorism and criminal activities, the Navy conducted the drive on Tuesday (Apr 8) evening, based on secret information, according to a press release from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday.

During the operation, the naval contingent searched a house in the area and recovered a large quantity of goods, reportedly stolen at different times from the under-construction power plant in Matarbari, it said.
